Also, you’re not the only person with complicated asshole feelings - I read your update and I should have ONLY had joyous feelings. But deep down I immediately felt, but what about MY mom? Why can’t SHE have these results? She is battling stage 4 ovarian cancer, but I tell her your updates and they give her hope. Net net, we’re all ungrateful assholes! (She also will say things like, “tell your friend this brand of fake eye brows is the best” - I should explain to her we’re not friends but I don’t bother, lol. Plus this community is all “friends” in some way.) ❤️❤️❤️

I was trying to explain to a friend yesterday just how expensive Cancer treatment is in the US, even with insurance. Being from Scotland and having 100% free healthcare it is totally out of our minds how we would fund treatment if we got sick. Seeing you journey makes me even more thankful for the Privilege of the NHS! I hope one day you get a president who also wants his whole country to have free healthcare!

I am so thrilled this treatment is working so well for you! Your mixed feelings make so much sense and definitely do not make you an ungrateful asshole - though I can understand feeling that way too. These treatments are harsh! Cancer reaches into every corner of your life. It's totally understandable you'd want a break. I'm happy that past week was such a good one. I am so glad you found an extremely appropriate way to vent some anger! Why anyone would want stop lifesaving scientific progress is inexplicable. Feelings are always real and honest…they don’t conform to “expectations.” Thank you so much for sharing yours. The authenticity and sheer humanity of every one of your posts warms my heart.
