“Unclench your jaw! What are you doing?!” is the note we all need right now - thank you!

For my 40th last year, originally I was thinking something normal like drinks at a bar, and then my husband reminded me that I don't really like bars (too loud!) or staying up past 9pm. So we invited a bunch of friends over and we *wait for it* RAN A 5k! Not an official one, just around the neighborhood. And then consumed an ungodly quantity of bagels, cream cheese, and lox from my favorite bagel place. Runners got there at 9:30, everyone else arrived at 10:30, and everything was wrapped up by 1pm. It was low key, so fun, and perfectly me. I loved it.

OMG this sounds like the best birthday party ever, the two things I love most running and brunch! I bet you had the best day!

39 and want to go on a trip for 40! I don’t want to spend money for a party for myself for others to enjoy. I would enjoy it but it would also be a lot of stress and honestly I’d rather be in bed at 9 pm! I’d also rather use it as an excuse to plan an awesome vacation for myself.

I got 25 of my favorite humans together for Sunday Funday—took a bus to a beautiful restaurant where we spent hours playing “aves bingo” and telling stories and sharing pictures from all years of my life. Nothing more fun than laughs, tears, cocktails, my besties and snacks! It just felt right and was perfect! Oh and my friends curated the playlist!
